Review: Blood Red Road

I have nothing but praise for the writing, the characters, the plot, every little thing. If you haven't read this book yet, I'm telling you right now to please stop making the same mistake that I made for over a year! Read. This. Book. ASAP. It is exceptional!

ARC Review: The Selection

I was a bit hesitant to read The Selection after... the fact that this book is described as The Bachelor meets The Hunger Games, but... I was pleasantly surprised! I actually really enjoyed this book!

ARC Review: Masque of the Red Death

Debauchery Club. Steampunk. Dystopia. Hot boys. Are you sold yet? I sure as hell was from the moment that I first read the synopsis! And I can say, without a second thought, that this book lived up to and surpassed all of my expectations!

ARC Review: The Last Echo

...I was so sad when I first read the title of this book because I thought that it meant that it was going to be the end of an awesome series, but luckily the title is misleading! I adore this series and everything about it, and The Last Echo was no exception.

Review: Desires of the Dead

I finally decided to pick up Desires of the Dead and am so glad that I did; it was such a fantastic read!... Overall, I loved this sequel! It was very well written and I loved the mystery and suspense in the plot...

Review: Afterlife

The Evernight series was one of the first that I began reading when I got into young adult books about four years ago, so I'm really sad to see it come to an end, but I've really enjoyed reading the series and Afterlife was no different!

Please Read! (5/23/12):
Hi everyone! I feel like it's been such a long time since I've posted on my blog and for that, I'm very sorry! I took a break to concentrate on school and I found it very difficult to get back into things afterwards. I've missed writing reviews and reading all of your comments for the past couple of months, so I'm very happy to say that I'm getting back into my blogging routine! I've already posted a couple of new reviews and there are many, many more that I need to write, so look out for them coming up! Once again, I'm so glad to be back and posting, and I'm so sorry for my inactivity!

My Thoughts On... Books To Film

Hi everyone! Welcome to my weekly blog feature My Thoughts On...! So each week, I'll have a different bookish topic and I'll tell you my thoughts on it, as well as share some examples. I've been wanting to do a feature like this for a while, so now that I'm doing it I can finally share some of my opinions with you guys!

For today's My Thoughts On... I've chosen the topic of

Books to film!

I think that I speak for a lot of people when I say that if a book to film interpretation is done right, it can be spectacular. Hello, Harry Potter anyone!? Now, when it's done poorly... that a whole different story. Okay, for all of you who are fans of the Twilight movies, you may not want to read this part. Anyway, personally, I think that the Twilight films are awful. I was a huge huge fan (you don't even know how huge! I ran a fan site and everything...) of Twilight around the time the first movie was being filmed and I was absolutely dying to see it. At least, until I finally saw it. Honestly, I was such a huge fan (I'm not much of a fan anymore, in case you're wondering) and I wanted to like the movie so bad, but it was just not good at all and I really wish that I'd never even seen it.

Like I said, if it's done right, a book turned into a movie can be phenomenal! I love being able to see characters come to life on the big screen, I think that it's a whole different way to experience your favourite books, but it's so hard to do right. It must be hard to be in charge of making a book into a film because, especially when it comes to casting, you can't please everyone! I do think that if the movie stays as true to the book as possible and has good actors then it's on the right track!

Some examples of books to film are Harry Potter, Twilight, The Vampire Diaries and many, many more.

What are your thoughts on books to film? Do you agree with me or disagree? Let me know in the comments! Also, please leave me suggestions for future "My Thoughts On..." topics, I'm running low on ideas!

  1. I agree with your assessment entirely. I haven't seen the HP movies yet (I want to read the books first) and most of the book to movie's that I've seen aren't YA. My personal favorite's are Gettysburg (based on the book Killer Angels) and The Searchers (based on the book of the same title). In both cases the movie is actually better than the book, for me anyway.
